9th annual Taster's Choice event

Fat Tuesday is Tuesday, but many started the season off Wednesday at the annual Taster’s Choice.
A crowd gathered at LSUE Acadian Center for tasting and sampling of different foods during the ninth annual Taster’s Choice (Le Courir De Mardi Gras Pour Le Clinic).
The event is a cooking competition and is the major fundraiser for the Eunice Community Health Center.
Geno Delafose provided live Cajun Zydeco entertainment for the crowd.
There was also a silent and live auction.

Eunice Little Mardi Gras parade

Despite the predicted weather forecast of rain, Mother Nature said differently at 3 p.m. Sunday when the Little Mardi Gras run made its appearance for a downtown Second Street parade. The weather did turn to colder temperatures and windy conditions, however, this did not stop the Little Mardi Gras parade as the little ones rode inside on parade buses and some were on truck trailers.

The Third annual Parade of Paws

One may ask “Who let the Dogs Out?” Saturday afternoon as the third annual Parade of Paws parade of canines walked past South Second Street.
The third annual Parade of Paws was held Saturday afternoon at downtown second street. There were 15 participants, canines that is, were registered for the event. There were, small as well as large breeds, dressed in Mardi Gras clad. Ribbons, gift cards, and $100 in cash to the first place winner, was announced by Parade of Paws coordinator Jerica Guillory. All proceeds from entry fees will go to animals in need in Eunice.
