Eunice Police had arrest warrants on two people in connection with the theft of pickup trucks from a yard in the 400 block of Ulysse Street on Oct. 8.
Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said three vehicles were reported stolen on Monday.
The victim said the trucks were not in good condition and a value of $2,500 each.
The trucks were a 1993 Ford Ranger, a 1993 Chevrolet S-10 and a 2000 Chevrolet Duramax.
A neighbor said a white male in pickup pulled the trucks out of the yard one at a time, Fontenot said.
Eunice Police called Eunice area salvage yards to find out if anyone had sold the trucks.
They made contact with Jessie Auto Sales in Mamou on Veterans Memorial Highway and was advised that all the pickup trucks were picked up in Eunice at that property, he said.
An employee at Jessie Auto Sales said the trucks were picked up on Oct. 8, he said. Fontenot said the employee identified the person that sold the trucks to Jessie Auto Sales and another person who had brought the suspect there.
The employee said both of the small trucks had already been scrapped and they paid $500 for all three trucks, he said.
Warrants were obtained for Austin Snow, 30, of College Road, and Jacqueline Bergeron, 28, of Bernice Street, he said.
Both were charged with two counts of felony motor vehicle theft.
Fontenot said ownership of the third truck was still being investigated on Tuesday.
Fontenot said a salvage yard is not required to demand a title on vehicles it buys if the vehicle is over 10 years old.
The police chief said Eunice salvage yards do not buy vehicles without titles.
