Two women ere arrested for prostitution at the Green Spa located at 628 Creswell Lane in Opelousas, according to a news release from St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
Guidroz stated numerous complaints had been received over several months about female employees engaging in sexual acts for money.
On Tuesday, St. Landry Parish narcotics detectives assisted by St. Landry Parish Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at the spa.
Detectives detained two Asian females identified as Xiaoxia Li A.K.A Yuang Yong and Luyanxing Couras and a white male who was questioned at the scene and released.
Detectives seized two $2,487, two DVRs, seven cellular telephones, an external hard drive, one iPad, two checkbooks for an individual not on scene, one handwritten ledger, numerous business and occupational documents and one ATM.
“The investigation revealed that the women were operating a house of prostitution disguised as a legitimate massage parlor. Detectives discovered that the two women were offering sexual favors in return for cash. After conducting interviews with several customers, detectives learned that the women were soliciting customers to perform a variety of sexual acts for cash. The ATM was conveniently located in the lobby of the business for customers to obtain cash via debit or credit card to pay for the sexual acts,” Guidroz stated.
He added, “ The two suspects were not very cooperative and claimed to speak very limited English.”
Arrested on charges of money laundering, operation of places of prostitution and inciting prostitution were:
— Luyanxing Couras, 55, of the 1500 block of Nogales Street, Los Angeles, California; and
Xiaoxia Li, 44, of 628 Creswell Lane, Opelousas.
They both posted $10,000 bail.
