Two Eunice residents were indicted in the drive-by shooting of De’Omante Frank on Nov. 4, 2019, at South Martin Luther King Drive and East Maple Avenue.
Demyron L. Skinner, 19, of the 1000 block of Anne Street, Eunice, was indicted for second-degree murder.
Lainey Claire Lomas, 18, of the 2800 block of Redich Road, Eunice, was indicted for accessory after the fact to the second- degree murder.
A second-degree murder conviction carries a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
Accessory after the fact carries a sentence of not more than five years, with or without hard labor.
The St. Landry Parish Grand Jury indictments were returned Feb. 20 before 27th Judicial District Court, Judge A. Gerard Caswell.
Frank, 21, was riding a bicycle east bound on East Maple Avenue when a vehicle pulled up beside him, Fontenot said. Seven to 10 shots were fired and Frank was struck once in the side, he stated.
Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said Lomas was driving the car from which Skinner shot at Frank at about 11:45 a.m.
Central Middle School, which is near the shooting, was placed on lock-down. No students were injured or involved.
Frank was taken to Acadian Medical Center where he died.
