A fourth person has been arrested in connection with the shootings on Oct. 11 after the Rayne-Eunice high school football game.
Rayne Police arrested Christian Robinson, 21, of the 500 block of North Arenas Street, for his involvement in the attempted cover-up of the shooting, according to Police Chief Carroll Stelly.
Robinson was arrested for accessory after the fact of attempted second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by person convicted of certain felonies and possession of a stolen firearm.
A the time his arrest on Oct. 16, Robinson was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, Stelly stated.
Robinson also was charged with possession of a Schedule II drug and violation of a drug-free zone.
Robinson was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
Other arrests are:
Darrell Jamel Nickerson, 20, charged with attempted first-degree murder, illegal carrying of weapons, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and disruption of school operations:
Aaron Alexander Redeaux, 19, charged with attempted second-degree murder; and
A 15-year-old juvenile booked into the Lafayette Juvenile Detention Facility on unspecified charges.
No one was injured in the shooting near Rayne High, but one person was hospitalized following what police believe was a related shooting early near Armstrong Middle School, which is about a half mile from the football stadium.
