St. Landry Crime Stoppers and Deputy Devin Johnson of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office requests the public’s help in solving multiple thefts throughout the parish.
In the last two months the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office has investigated nine ATV thefts. The burglaries are occurring in the Melville, Palmetto, Opelousas and the Sunset areas. In some cases, the keys were left on the ATVs, the shops were left open and unlocked, or the ATVs were left in plain sight. Stolen were Honda Ranchers ranging from, 2013 to 2019 year models. The colors of the ATVs were red, yellow and black, orange and camouflage.
The patrol division is performing extra patrols throughout the parish, but requests the ATV securing their property by removing keys and moving ATVs from plain sight.
