Brothers busted at Grand Coteau store

Two brother were busted in a narcotics operation the One Stop Store, 536 East Martin Luther King Drive, Grand Coteau, on Wednesday.
During the operation, agents utilized a confidential informant to purchase marijuana from the store’s cashier, stated St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz in a news release.
After the transaction was completed, agents obtained a search warrant for the business.
“Upon the execution of the warrant, the owner of the business, Nisar Sohail, was located in a vehicle in the parking lot. Upon contact with him, Agents detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle Sohail occupied. Based on this finding, a search of the vehicle produced a bag of marijuana on the front passenger seat and another bag of marijuana was located on Sohail’s person.” Guidroz said,
“The search of the business resulted in the seizure of two firearms, 1 Viagra tablet and 2 Cialis tablets in individual packaging. Agents further seized $932.00 in U.S. Currency from the store’s cash register, due to the money being comingled with drug proceeds,” he stated.
“The cashier and brother of Sohail, Shoaib Munir, was found to have a bag of marijuana on his person with $475.00 cash. Munir’s vehicle was also searched and an unlabeled medicine bottle containing 7 hydrocodone tablets, 9 Baclofen tablets and 4 Viagra tablets,” he stated.
Nasir Sohail 46, of the 200 block of Ventre Boulevard, Opelousas, is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Shoaib Munir 42, of the 200 block of Williams Circle, Opelousas, is charged with distribution of marijuana, two counts of illegal possession of a firearm in the presence of controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute Schedule II (Hydrocodone), two counts of possession of a legend drug and two counts of monies derived from drug proceeds.
