Evangeline Parish Sheriff Eddie Soileau released an update on Tuesday regarding the death of a 3-year-old who was run over by a vehicle on March 23
The sheriff stated Joshua Paul Guillory Sr., Joshua Paul Guillory Jr. and Joseph Farrell Guillory Jr. reported to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for questioning on Tuesday.
Charges were filed against Joshua Paul Guillory Sr. and Joshua Paul Guillory Jr. for obstruction of justice.
The sheriff stated the investigation is continuing.
On March 23, deputies were notified of a vehicle incident involving injuries to a 3-year-old male in the 1100 block of Rollins Road.
Witnesses say a male subject exited a vehicle, after which, closed the door causing the vehicle to roll backwards. A 3-year-old child was caught between an opened passenger side door when he fell to the ground and the passenger side tire of the vehicle rolled over him, the sheriff reported.
The child was taken to Mercy Regional Hospital where he died, the sheriff stated.
