A 37-year-old Church Point man has been arrested for straving a dog to death, according to a news release from St. Landry Parish President Jesse Bellard.
Arrested is Michael Hawkins Jr. of 100 block of Chachere Road, Church Point.
Parish Animal Control was contacted in September about a malnourished and mistreated dog in the Lewisburg area.
