Church Point man faces multiple charges after chase

A Church Point man faces multiple charges after leading Eunice City Marshal deputies on a chase Thursday.
Chief Deputy Joey Peloquin attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Fuselier Street at about 10:30 a.m., but the vehicle failed to stop and pursuit ensued.
According to a news release from City Marshal Terry Darbonne, while deputies were in pursuit they observed a green leafy substance thrown out of the vehicle just into Acadia Parish.
The pursuit continued until the vehicle was pulled over on La. 35 near Gueno Lane, south of Branch.
The suspect was identified as Alan Ned, 31, a of the 500 block of North Moss Street, Church Point. Ned was charged with illegal window tint, suspended drivers license, aggravated flight from an officer, possession of marijuana third offense, the news release stated.
“Upon arrest, our agency was notified that Mr. Ned also has outstanding warrants in Acadia Parish for no drivers license, illegal carrying of weapon, possession of marijuana, firearm possession by a felon, aggravated criminal damage. Mr. Ned criminal records consists of 28 prior arrests with six of these being narcotic arrests,” the news release stated.
Ned was held at the Eunice Police Department. A hold for Acadia Parish has also been placed on him.
