A woman hired as a 24-hour caretaker for a 72-year-old woman turned access to the woman’s bank account into a $20,543.79 spending spree, according to a report from St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobbby Guidroz.
Charged is Vanessa M. Venable, 57, of the 2000 block of Osage Trail, Church Point, with exploitation of persons with infirmities. Her bail was set at $20,000.
