Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a narcotics search warrant in the 200 block of 2nd Street in Mementau on Jan. 31.
According to a news release from Sheriff K.P. Gibson, deputies began their search and located 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine, 129 grams of heroin, 16 grams of cocaine, 37 grams of marijuana, 224 assorted pills, 10 firearms and over $5,000 in currency. The street value of these illegal drugs is $106,000.
“Our deputies are doing an outstanding job battling the illegal drugs in our communities. We have a large amount of open investigations and they take time to develop. Their time and effort has not gone unnoticed” Gibson said.
Arrested was Mickey Dale Perry, 61 of Mermentau. Perry has been charged with: two counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I (heroin and marijuana); four counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II (methamphetamine, oxycodone, cocaine, Perico); three counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule III (colonaezpam, diazepam, carisoprodel); two counts of possession with intent to distribute legend drugs (ciprofloxalin, tizanidine); possession of an unregistered firearm (sawed off shotgun); possession of drug paraphernalia; proceeds from drug sales; possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance; and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone.
Perry has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail with bond pending.
