Eunice man faces multiple charges after deputies search

Norman James Ceasar, 30, of the 300 block of West Ardoin Street, Eunice, faces multiple charges after St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Department detectives executive a search warrant at his residence, according to a news release from Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
On April 4, detectives made contact withe Ceasar and two children in the resident as they initiated a search of house, property and any vehicles that were parked on his property, Guidoz said.
Ceasar was advised of his rights and stated that there were no illegal narcotics on his property. Guidroz said.
Guidroz said the search recovered a .44- caliber revolver, $2,920 in cash, an ice tea” container with a false compartment that contained 4.5 oz of methamphetamine and a black digital scale, and a disinfectant spray can with a false compartment that contained more methamphetamine.
Ceasar was placed under arrest and later admitted that all the drugs and the gun was for him, Guidroz said.
Ceasar was charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, 1 carrying of weapons in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses and illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of person under 17 years of age.
Ceasar was taken to the parish jail for processing.
