Eunice trio arrested in Rayne on drug charges

A trio from Eunice faces various drug charges following a routine traffic stop in Rayne.
Police Chief Carroll J. Stelly said uniformed patrol officers with the Rayne Police Department stopped a vehicle traveling north on the Church Point Highway with a burnt headlamp on June 6.
Officers were given consent to conduct a search of vehicle, during which they discovered 2.8 ounces of methamphetamine packaged for sale, a digital scale, small clear Ziploc bags, 38 pills identified as clonazepam packaged for sale, and a counterfeit $100 bill.
The violations occurred inside of a drug-free zone and they were charged accordingly, according to Stelly.
Arrested and charged were:
— Kasey Perron, 45: possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics (methamphetamine); possession with the intent to distribute Schedule IV narcotics (clonazepam); possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone; monetary instrument abuse (counterfeit money).
— Sadie Shuff, 19: possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics (methamphetamine); possession with the intent to distribute Schedule IV narcotics (clonazepam); possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone.
— Jodi Reed, 47; possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics (methamphetamine); possession with the intent to distribute Schedule IV (clonazepam); possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone.
