Eunice woman among 2 arrested on theft charges

A Eunice woman and a Lake Charles man have been arrested in connection with the theft of a Church Point business.
Church Point Police Chief Dale Thibodeaux stated, in a news release, “The Church Point Police Department would like to inform everyone that the suspects from the theft shown yesterday (March 2) have been arrested. These suspects were not from the Church Point area and were from around the Eunice area. I want everyone to know whether you are from Church Point or somewhere else and you steal from any of our merchants big or small, we will hunt you down and arrest you.”
Angela Dennis William, 44, of Eunice, and Jonathan Mason, 45, of Lake Charles, were each arrested on a charge of theft.
On March 3, the Church Point Police requested the public’s help in identifying the suspects, who were shown on the business’s video surveillance, and the suspects were soon identified.
“I want to thank everyone who assisted us in identifying these individuals in such a quick manner,” Thibodeaux stated. “We would also like to thank the St. Landry Sheriffs Department for their assistance in getting the information we needed on these suspects.”
As of March 3, the suspects were in the St. Landry Parish Jail on unrelated theft charges, and they were to be transferred to the Acadia Parish Jail to await bond on the March 2 theft charges.
“This was solved quickly thanks to help from the public who stepped up and identified these individuals,” Thibodeaux stated.
