Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office has released the following:
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for assistance with an ongoing investigation.
At 9:14 p.m. Monday, two male subjects armed with handguns entered the Dollar General located at 1071 S. Chataignier road. They pointed their handguns at employees while forcing one employee to the ground. Once the they turned their attention toward the register, employees were able to escape and lock themselves in other areas of the store. The suspects then began taking money from the register. They the fled the store and headed south on the Chataignier road.
