Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an attempted burglary at the Mowata Store, 30283 Crowley-Eunice Highway, at about 2:40 a.m. Jan. 17.
According to a news release from Sheriff K.P. Gibson, the suspect, described as a white male, wearing a gray jacket, blue jeans, eye protection and a blue cloth covering his face, approached the front door of the business with a crowbar. The suspect attempted to gain entry to the store by striking the front door glass, but was unsuccessful. Images of the suspect were captured on the stores video system.
Anyone with information regarding the crime is urged to call the tips line at 789-TIPS or download the P3 app on amobile device to report a tip anonymously.
All callers will remain anonymous and can receive up to a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
