Lafayette man charged in armed robbery at Cankton

A 26-year-old Lafayette man has been charged in the armed robbery of two subjects outside the Cankton Country Bar located at 126 Billeaux Road in Cankton on May 31.
According to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz, the victims tried to fight off the robbery, but the robber was able to runaway with about $4,000 in cash.
Raheem Demon Landry, of the 100 block of Batiste Road, Lafayette, was charged with two counts of aggravated second-degree battery and one count of armed robbery with the use of a firearm.
Landry is out on $125,000 bail.
