A 38-year-old man who was found hanged in the Eunice City Jail on Sept. 20 died Tuesday, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
John Paul Davis was booked into the jail for remaining after being forbidden at 12:53 p.m.
Davis was found at 3:29 p.m. hanged by prison clothing, Fontenot said.
Davis was taken to Acadian Medical Center and later taken to a Lafayette hospital for treatement, he said.
