Two Opelousas men are accused of pistol-whipping a man in attempt to rob a resident of his dog, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
Deputies responded to an unknown medical complaint on Nap Lane near Opelousas on Oct. 15.
“The resulting investigation revealed that four individuals drove up to a home and attempted to rob the resident of his dog. The victim was allegedly pistol-whipped to the point of unconsciousness, with one of the pistols broken in the process,” Guidroz stated.
“The investigation by our Patrol Division resulted in two of the alleged suspects being identified through a photo lineup. Kelbe Deshawn Jordan has been arrested and the accomplice, Tawaskie Ledet is being sought,” he stated.
Jordan, 18, of the 200 block of Leroy Brooks Road, has been arrested and charged with three felonies: attempted armed robbery, aggravated second-degree battery and aggravated assault with a firearm.
As of Monday, Tawaskie Ledet, 17, 10 block of Vita Lane, is wanted on he same charges.
