51-year-old William Dewayne Faulk, 51 of Maxie has been arrested for a burglary that occurred Jan. 15 at a Church Point business, according to Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson.
Faulk was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail for theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of criminal damage to property, criminal trespassing and burglary, Gibson’s news release stated.
Gibson stated, deputies responded to a burglary alarm at the Kwik Stop located in the 8800 block of the Church Point Highway at 3:40 a.m.
An entrance door to the business sustained damage from what appeared to be a vehicle striking the structure. Once the business was checked, an ATM machine was discovered to have been pulled from its mounted position in an attempt to steal it.
Video showed the suspect as he committed this burglary, Gibson stated.
During the investigation, a second call was received a call regarding a stolen vehicle. The vehicle matched the description of the vehicle used in the Kwik Stop burglary and had damage to the same area which struck the store, Gibson stated.
These two incidents have been confirmed to be related with each other. he stated.
As this investigation continued into the morning, deputies were able to discover evidence that led them to the suspect in this case, he stated. Deputies were able to locate the suspect on the following day.
