Robert Miller, 44, of Eunice was found guilty of negligent homicide in the death of 18-month-old Victoria Renee LeJeune in February 2013.
St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre announced the verdict on Tuesday.
The child died from blunt force trauma to the head, Pitre stated in a news release.
Pitre thanked lead prosecutor Don Richard for delivering justice for the young child.
