According to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, the inmate who walked off a work detail on Sept. 7, has been captured in the Eunice area.
Once it was learned that a trusty working at the departments service station left the grounds, the sheriff’s office along with area agencies began an extensive search. The department worked leads from Eunice to Baton Rouge but one very observant citizen spotted him in the Eunice area and notified the sheriff’s office. Deputies responded to the area where the inmate was spotted and arrested him without incident.
Guidroz thanked all the agencies, media, and citizens who assisted in the capture of the inmate.
