LAFAYETTE — Gabriel Bates, 33, of Opelousas, was sentenced on July 27 for counterfeiting, announced U.S. Attorney Brandon Brown.
U.S. District Judge Robert Summerhays sentenced Bates to 26 months in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release. Bates pleaded guilty to the charge on April 12.
