An Opelousas man convicted of first-degree rape was sentenced on Wednesday to life in prison, according to St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre.
Lee R. Jackson, 55, was convicted by a unanimous jury on Sept. 28 for the rape of child under 13 years old.
Jackson also was convicted on two counts of molestation of juvenile and sentenced to an additional 35 years on each count.
