Police: Eunice man killed after motorcycle collides with pickup

A 62-year-old Eunice man died after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck in on La. 10 in Evangeline Parish on Tuesday, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I.
The crash that took the life of Connie Fuselier occurred about 8:30 p.m. on La. 10 west of U.S. 167.
Fuselier was riding a 2007 Honda motorcycle eastbound on La. 10 and Chris Humphrey of Baton Rouge, 28, was traveling westbound on La. 10 in a 2012 Dodge Ram, police said.
As the two vehicles approached, Fuselier crossed over into the westbound lane, police said. In an attempt to avoid the collision, Humphrey steered left, then Fuselier steered back right and the vehicles struck head-on near the center line, police said.
Fuselier suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash. He taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte where he succumbed to those injuries, police said.
Impairment on Fuselier’s part is unknown at this time, but a toxicology sample will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis, police said.
Humphrey was properly restrained and was uninjured, and impairment is not suspected, police said.
