Rayne Police are seeking the public’s assistance to locate Paul L. Wheeler.
Wheeler is accused of shooting at two people near the intersection of North Bradford and A School Street in Rayne at about 11:30 p.m. Nov. 9.
The incident is believed to have occurred regarding a previous disturbance, according to an Acadia Parish Crimestoppers news release.
Investigators were able to secure an arrest warrant for Wheeler for two counts of attempted second-degree murder. Officers believe that Wheeler has fled the Rayne area to avoid being arrested.
Wheeler is described as a black male, 30 years of age, 5’7” in height weighing about 140 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes. Wheeler has a tattoo of cross on his lower forehand. His last known address is 304 Holt St. in Rayne.
