A 54-year-old Scott man has been arrested on charges of aggravated burglary and first-degree murder, according to Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson in news release.
Deputies responded to an address in the 200 block of Estella Lane north of Mire. The investigation has revealed that the victim, Amy Bernard Bourque, 40, was staying at the residence with family members, Gibson said.
At about 7 a.m. Friday the victim’s estranged husband came to the location and shot her, he said. The victim died on the scene, he said.
Deputies with the assistance of Scott Police were able to locate suspect Paul Dale Bourque Sr., who was booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail.
Bourque was to be taken to the Acadia Parish Jail.
Gibson said additional charges are pending.
