Mardi Gras throws of full cans of beer and Jello shots are drawing the attention of Eunice Police.
“We’ve got complaints about people throwing full cans of beer,” Chief Randy Fontenot said.
And there are reports of people throwing Jello shots form the Mardi Gras trailers, he said.
A Jello shot contains liquor.
“We had people that were hit by cans of beer,” Fontenot said.
“We had children that getting access to the beer and Jello shots. Some children were going home with Jello shots,” he said.
Fontenot said police are working the Mardi Gras association to identify the people responsible.
“Pat Frey is just as interested as we are,” he added. Frey is capitaine of the association.
“I think once we do make these identification they will be banned from future Mardi Gras run,” Fontenot said
About the Jello shots, Fontenot said, “I wouldn’t trust anything coming off a parade float.”
Anyone with information about the beer and Jello shot throws is asked to call Eunice Police at 337-457-2626 and for the the chief or Lt. Tony Kennedy.
