St. Landry Crime Stoppers is asking for leads to solve a rash of home burglaries.
On March 12, deputies responded to seven home burglaries in the south end of the parish. The suspects either kicked in the doors or broke windows to gain entry.
During one burglary the home owner returned home and noticed a silver two-doorm possibly a Pontiac, car backed up to the rear carport area of his residence. When the owner approached the vehicle, a black male ran out the rear door of his residence and fled the scene along with another black male driver towards Sunset.
Deputies were also dispatched to a home burglary in progress where a young teenager was hiding inside the home while the suspects were inside. The teenager when hearing the break-in was able hide and text a parent to call 911. The young teenager was able to hear one suspect yell “Let’s go Roscoe!” After the suspects left, the witness observed a silver vehicle possibly a Pontiac Grand Am or Pontiac Grand Prix occupied by two black males leaving the area.
Stolen in the burglaries were numerous weapons, jewelry, a small safe, and cash all totaling over $11,000.
