A 38-year-old substitute teacher has been charged with having sexual relations with a two males, ages 15 and 16, according to a news release from St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
Tara Taylor Richard, of the 700 block of Oscar Rivette Road, Arnaudville, has been charged with four counts of felony carnal knowledge and one count of oral sexual battery, Guidroz reported.
The investigation began on Oct. 26.
Reports indicated that Richard was a substitute teacher at the time of the sexual encounter. The sexual acts did not occur on school property, Guidroz stated.
Richard was arrested on Dec. 3.
Richard admitted to having sexual relations with the juveniles during the summer of 2018, Guidroz stated.
“It’s a sad day when we must arrest someone that does harm to our kids, especially those we have entrusted in educating and molding our youth. Parents should always be diligent with regards to the safety of their children,” Guidroz stated.
