An Acadia Parish teen has been indicted on attempted second-degree murder charges.
The Acadia Parish Grand Jury met earlier this month and indicted Joseph Robbins, 16 years of age. Robbins’ indictment means that he will be tried as an adult, according to Sheriff K.P. Gibson.
The indictment is the result of an incident which occurred on Feb. 6 in the 24000 block of Crowley-Eunice Highway.
The investigation revealed that, during a disturbance, Robbins allegedly armed himself with a 20-gauge shotgun and attempted to shoot a juvenile victim. The gun malfunctioned and the victim fled.
Robbins then allegedly armed himself with a rifle and sought the victim, but was unable to locate him.
Robbins was arrested by deputies during their investigation.
Robbins has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail. His bond has been set at $75,000.
