U.S. Congressman for Louisiana’s 3rd District Clay Higgins, said Tuesday that he intends to be judged by his constituency on the merit of his voting record, and the nature of his faith and political affiliations.

Congressman Clay Higgins told a Crowley Lions Club luncheon during his campaign last August the transition from lawman to politician was “taking some getting used to.”

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz at first hesitated to comment about the election of his former spokesperson Clay Higgins to the 3rd Congressional District seat.
