Lady Bengals fall to LSUA

ALEXANDRIA – The LSU Eunice Lady Bengals began 2017 with back-to-back road losses to fall to 4-10 on the season.
The Lady Bengals fell 74-54 to LSU Alexandria Thursday night after losing 81-72 to Bossier Parish Community College on Monday.
A slow start hampered the Lady Bengals as LSUA jumped out to a 12-5 first quarter lead, aided by six points from Nicole Bouillion.
Jaleya Gold led the Lady Bengals with three points in the opening period.
The two offenses warmed up in the second quarter as LSUA outscored the Lady Bengals 27-19 to grab a 39-24 halftime lead.
Amber Cesain led the Lady Generals with eight points, including two treys in the period, while Jasmine Nash and Temekia Bonner both added five points.
Nicole Kraut led LSUE with six points, while Jazmyn Menina pushed in four points and Becca Brooks drilled a three pointer.
The scoring barrage conrtinued in the third quarter as LSUA outscored the Lady Bengals 28-21 to take a 67-45 advatage into the fourth period.
Bonner drained two treys for the Lady Generals, while Taylor Plantin and Bouillion both chipped in five points.
Gold exploded for nine points to spark the Lady Bengal offense, while Gabrielle Harrington added six points in the period.
LSUE outscored the Lady Generals 9-7 in the fourth quarter, sparked by nine points from Rylie James.
James led LSUE with 15 points as teammate Gold contributed 12 points.
Bonner led LSUA with 15 points on the night, while Bouillion and Cesair both chipped in 13 points.

BPCC 81, LSUE 72
On Monday, Bossier Parish Community College opened with a 27-10 run as the Lady Cavaliers grabbed a 81-72 won over the Lady Bengals.
Ashlyn Jacobs began the game with seven points, while BPCC team mates Tyla Sherman, Smarius Colquitt and Tyra Kidd all chipped in six points in the first period.
James and Harrington both pushed in three points for the Lady Bengals.
LSUE regrouped for a 23-14 second quarter surge to close the gap to 41-33 at the break.
Gold and Harrington led the Lady Bengals with six points each in the quarter, while Kraut pushed in five points.
Jacobs had five points for Bossier as team mate Savanah Thomas added four points.
The Lady Cavaliers took the game over with a 20-9 third quarter run to help BPCC take a 61-42 lead into the fourth quarter.
Colquitt and Jacobs contributed six points for the BPCC in the quarter, while Harrington and Kraut led LSUE with three points each.
The Lady Bengals exploded for a 30-20 run to finish the game strong but LSUE could not pull off the comeback win.
James scored eight points in the final period to finish with 14 points.
James entered the game averaging 20 points and ranked No. 20 among Division 1 National Junior College Athletic Association scorers.
Lady Bengal Desiree Chambers scored all of her seven points in the fourth quarter.
Colquitt scored two treys in the period to finish with 18 points.
Jacobs also chipped in 18 points, while Kidd added 16 points and Thomas contributed 10 points.
Back on Nov.12, The Lady Bengals picked up their first win of the season with an 80-62 win over Bossier Parish.
LSUE travels to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College 5:30 p.m. Monday before entertaining Arkansas Baptist College 4 p.m. Saturday.
