4-4A All-District boys team named

Rayne captured the 2019-20 boys basketball title and dominated the All-District 4-4A top honors as Leon Smith earned MVP honors and Darrell Caesar was named district Coach of the Year.
Joining Smith on the first team was team mate Antonio Cormier along with Washington Marion’s Jamaar Moore, Darrell Washington from LaGrange and North Vermilion’s Parker McNees.
Eunice High’s Dedric Vigers was named to the all district second team along with Rayne’s Lance Smith, Chris Willis from LaGrange.
Washington-Marion’s Jason Butler and Darius Reado also earned second team recognition.
Eunice High’s Fred Guillory was named to the All-Defensive team.
Bobcat Terrance Shilow was placed on the district’s Honorable Mention list.
Joining Shilow are Donte’ Dodd from LaGrange, Washington-Marion’s Tyree Brown along with Rayne’s Kaleb Colomb and Tayshawn Colomb.
No. 8 Rayne (22-11, 7-1) was upset in the opening round of the playoffs as No. 25 Beau Chene grabbed a 69-66 win over the Wolves.
No. 19 Washington- Marion (15-10, 6-2) lost to No. 14 Plaquemine, 62-51.
No. 27 North Vermilion (15-11, 3-5) fell to No. 6 George Washington Carver 74-35 in the first round.
No. 30 LaGrange (15-17, 4-4) was pushed out in the first round as No 3 Huntington earned a 74-60 win over the Gators.
The Eunice Bobcats (2-21, 0-8) did not make the playoffs.
