It was a close battle until the end as St. Edmund grabbed an 8-6 win over Mamou.
The Green Demons threatened early when Kayden Serie singled but could not advance.
St. Edmund then scored two runs in the bottom of the first, begun when Peyton Marcantel singled and Daven Benoit was hit by a pitch.
Will Turk singled in Marcantel, while courtesy runner Kaleb George crossed home plate when Bryce Vidrine reached on an error.
Mamou scored a run in the top of the second begun when Tanner Atchinson singled, Devon Boone doubled and Aubrey Martel walked to load the bases.
Courtesy runner Amarion Watson scored on sacrifice fly by Devin Ardoin.
The Green Demons expoded for three runs in the top of the third as Zach Morien singled, Ardoin doubled and both scored on a double by Atchinson.
Courtesy runner Watson then scored on a hit by Boone as the Green Demons pushed ahead, 4-2.
St. Edmund responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame to retake the lead, 5-4.
Wesley Driggs doubled and scored on a hit by Hayden Smith.
Turk followed with single to drive in Smith and then scored on a ground out by Ian Dupre.
The Blue Jays added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, begun when Marcantel singled and scored on a hit by Driggs, who later advanced home on a Mamou error.
The Green Demons battled back with two runs in the top of the sixth to close the gap to 7-6.
Watson singled, Andre Tate was hit by a pitch and both scored on a double by Ardoin.
St. Edmund added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth when Benoit walked and scored on a Green Demon error.
Benoit earned the win as he allowed four earned runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts and a walk over five innings of work.
Vidrine pitched the final two innings and allowed two earned runs on two hits with two strikeouts and a walk.
Marcantel went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, while Wesley Driggs went 2-for-3 with a RBI and two runs scored.
Turk finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored, while Vidrine went 2-for-3.
Atchinson went 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead Mamou.
