The Blue Jays outscored Loreauville 10-4 in the second overtime as St. Edmund battled to a 56-50 win over the Tigers.
With the score tied 46-46 after the first over time, the Jays sealed the win as Kieran Davis opened with a free throw, Alex Dupre scored three points and Easten Coleman added two buckets in the lane for the six-point win.
Loreauville’s Zy Alexander hit a trey will 11 seconds left in regulation to send the game in to overtime.
Both teams added four points in the first overtime, including a last second shot by LHS’ Collen Jacob to force a 42-42 tie.
It was a battle from the opening tip as St. Ed’s jumped out to an 1-8 advantage, sparked by five points from Coleman and four points by Dupre.
After the Jays and Tigers exchanged treys to begin the second period, St. Edmund went on an 11-4 run aided by five points from Brown and Coleman.
Brown’s trey in the final minute pushed the Jays lead to 28-10 at intermission.
Loreauville regrouped in the third period as the Tigers out scored the Jays, 10-4.
Brown and Dupre each pushed in a bucket to account for the Blue Jay points in the frame.
The Tigers continued to push, outscoring the Jays 14-10 in the fourth quarter to force overtime,
Coleman scored six points in the period to help St. Ed’s keep a slim lead.
Alexander’s last second trey tied the game and missed a free throw opportunity by the Jays extended the contest.
Three St. Ed’s players scored in double figures including Coleman (16), Dupre (15) and Brown (14).
Jacob led LHS with 15 points, while Nick Deal chipped in 10 points.
St. Edmund (11-10) travels to the University Academy of Central Louisiana Tuesday before the closing the regular season at Vinton on Friday.

Mamou 49, St. Ed’s 45
The Lady Demons out scored St.Edmund 30-15 in the second half as Mamou stunned the Lady Jays, 49-45 in the regular season finale.
St. Ed’s jumped out to a 13-5 lead, sparked by two treys and a pair of free throws from senior Kinsley Marcantel.
The Lady Demons scored the final five points in the period to close the margin to 13-10.
The Lady Jays began the second frame with points in the lane from Mary Beth Lafleur, Savannah DeVillier and Anna Belle Fontenot.
Another trey from Marcantel and a bucket by Fontenot pushed the Lady Jays ahead, 26-14.
Brianna Thibodeaux hit her second three pointer of the period to pull the Lady Demons closer.
Two free throws by Lafleur and a lay-up on a steal by Marcantel in the closing seconds increased St. Edmund’s halftime lead to 30-19.
Lafleur scored on a lay up and added a free throw early in the third period for the Lady Jays.
Mamou hit back-to-back treys before Fontenot scored on a second chance bucket to push the Lady Jays ahead, 37-28.
The Lady Demons responded with a 6-0 run before Rebecca Benoit’s bucket in the lane with 34 seconds left increased the Lady Jays’ lead to 39-34.
Mamou hit two buckets to force a 39-39 tie with 4:47 left in the contest.
Lafleur drilled a trey to give the Lady Jays back the lead.
But back-to-back treys from the Lady Demons gave Mamou a 45-42 advantage with 3:16 remaining in the game.
DeVillier scored two clutch free throws to help close the margin to 45-44, but the Lady Demons responded with two from the line .
Greta Miller hit a free throw with 16 seconds left, but after a Lady Jay turnover, Mamou added a last second lay-up to seal the 49-45 win.
Marcantel and Lafleur both scored 13 points to lead the Lady Jays.
DeVillier added eight points, Fontenot pushed in six points and Tanzy Miller chipped in two points.
St. Edmund (13-12) entered Friday’s contest as the ninth-ranked team in Division IV and awaits the release of the LHSAA brackets to determine who the Lady Jays will face in the opening round of the playoffs.
