Bobcats down Green Demons

MAMOU – The Eunice High Bobcats completed a two-game sweep of the Mamou High Green Demons with a 13-4 victory.
The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning with a single by Grant Fontenot, a single by Tyler Darbonne, and a triple by Seth Deshotel.
The Mamou starting pitcher managed to keep the Bobcats from further damage and the Demons tied the game in the bottom of the inning on a single by Aubrey Martel.
The Bobcats broke the early tie by scoring four runs in the second inning.
Dylan Darbonne singled to open the inning. Zack Suire worked a walk off Mamou pitcher Tanner Atchison and Jahiem Mitchell followed with a run-scoring single.
With one out, Fontenot doubled in a run to give the Cats a 5-0 lead.
Fontenot set down the Demons in order in the second inning, but Kayden Serie opened the third inning with a single off Fontenot and came around to score on a single by Atchison.
Fontenot finished his three-inning mound duty, striking out five and allowing only two hits.
Luke Andrepont replaced Fontenot on the mound and was greeted with a home run off the bat of Devon Boone.
Andrepont retired the next three batters to end the inning.
The Bobcats scored three runs in the third inning, with Dylan Darbonne drawing a walk and a single by Suire.
With two out, Deandre Courville doubled in a run.
Fontenot singled two runs in to extend the Bobcat lead to 8-0.
The Cats added two more runs in the fourth and three in the fifth inning to increase their lead to 13-4.
Andrepont worked two innings in relief and Mitchell came on in the sixth inning to retire the final six batters.
Eunice 10, Mamou 5
In the first game against the Green Demons, the Bobcats overcoming a five-run first inning by the Demons to take a 10-5 victory.
Eunice High pitcher Braiden Rider struggled in the first inning against the Demons, allowing five runs on five hits before he retired the side.
But Rider got help from his offense in the bottom of the first inning from Austin Phillips,
Tyler Darbonne and Seth Deshotel to cut the Eunice deficit to 5-3.
Phillips walked, stole second base and Deshotel walked to put three runners on base against Demon pitcher Aubrey Martel.
Walks to Dylan Darbonne, Zach Suire, and Jaheim Mitchell allowed three runs to score for the Cats.
Rider bounced back from his early struggle, shuting out the Demons over the final four innings.
For the game, Rider worked five innings, gave up five runs, struckout four and issued just two walks to earn the win.
The Bobcats scored two runs in the third inning as Deshotel singled and advanced to third base on two wild pitches.
Luke Andrepont walked and both runners later scored on a single by Dylan Darbonne and a sacrifice fly from catcher Zach Suire to tie the score at 5-5.
The Cats added three more runs in the fourth inning. Grant Fontenot opened the inning with a bunt single and Phillips walked to put runners at first and second.
Tyler Darbonne followed with a three-run homerun to give the Cats a 8-5 lead
The Bobcats added three more runs in the fifth inning on doubles by Dylan Darbonne and Andrepont.
Top hitters for the Bobcats were Fontenot with a double, three singles, and a two runs scored.
Tyler Darbonne doubled in addition to his home run. Top hitters for Mamou were Daylon Ardoin and Tanner Atchison.
