Bobcats down Patriots, 57-19

MAURICE – Eunice received the ball to start the game and the Bobcats punted, but that would one of only three punts the entire game.
The Eunice offense, defense and special teams combined to lead the Bobcats to a 57-19 win atNorth Vermilion.
After the first punt, Bryson Poullard recovered a fumble on the EHS 40-yard line to get the Bobcats the ball back.
After a good drive put together by the Bobcats, Jeoul Hill ran into the end zone for a 30-yard touchdown on a reverse play for the first score of the game.
The two-point conversion was successful and Eunice led 8-0 with 6:20 left in the first quarter
The Bobcats immediately got the ball back on a onside kick recovered by Devin Richardson.
Eunice drove all the way to the one-yard line where Simeon Ardoin got in the end zone on a sneak play.
Braden Rider nailed the PAT giving the Bobcats a 15 point lead with 3:00 left in the first quarter.
After the Bobcats kicked the ball off, the defense recovered another fumble on their own 45-yard line.
After a few passes by Simeon Ardoin to Dylan Guillory and Jahiem Mitchell, Deon Ardoin rushed his way into the end zone for a six-yard rushing touchdown.
Rider tacked on the PAT for the 22-0 lead with 10:16 left in the second quarter.
The Patriots quickly responded with a few quarter-back runs.
Running back Ethan Guidry ran into the end zone from the one-yard line.
The PAT was good, closing the score to 22-7 with 4:00 left in the first half.
The Bobcats slowly drove all the way down to the two-yard line and Deon Ardoin rushed in the end zone for his second touchdown of the game with 37 seconds left in the first half.
Rider made the PAT and the score was 29-7.
The Bobcats weren’t done as Myles Woods recovered a fumble with 17 seconds left in the first half.
Simeon Ardoin completed a 22-yard pass to Dylan Guillory, then quickly fired a deep ball to the end zone where Jaheim Mitchell came down with it for a 20-yard touchdown pass with no time left in the first half.
After Rider made the PAT, the score at halftime was 36-7.
The Patriots received the ball to start the half and quickly made work of it.
Guidry got in the end zone with a five-yard touchdown, but the PAT was blocked as EHS led 36-13.
Simeon Ardoin responded by firing a strike down the field to Mitchell for 22-yard touchdown with 7:24 left in the third quarter.
After Rider nailed the PAT, the Bobcats led 43-13.
Mitchell intercepted the ball at his own 23-yard line as the EHS defense continued to make plays.
After the Bobcats were forced to punt, the turnovers continued for the Patriots as Jordon Olgelsby recovered a fumble on the Patriot 36-yard line in 2:30 left in the third quarter.
Simeon Ardoin continued his throwing spree with another touchdown pass to Guillory from 28 yards out.
Rider’s PAT was good, pushing the score to 50-13 with 1:00 left in the third quarter.
The Patriots scored one more time when quarter-back Darius Gilliam kept it and ran in the end zone from 17 yards out with 9:40 remaining.
The Bobcats responded as Simeon Ardoin threw his last touchdown pass of the night from 5 yards out to Mitchell with 5:50 left in the game,
Rider’s seventh PAT of the game pushed the final to 57-19.
Eunice (7-2, 2-1) closes the regular season at home against LaGrange.
LaGrange (4-4, 2-1) earned a 28-6 win over Washington Marion.
District 4-4A leader Rayne (5-4, 2-1) fell to Lafayette Christian Academy in a non-district clash .
The Wolves travel to Washington Marion (1-7, 0-3) to close out the regular season.
