Bobcats slip past Plaquemine

The No. 9 ranked Eunice Bobcats defeated the number 23 ranked Plaquemine with a 35-27 victory.
The Bobcats will take on Bastrop in the second round of the playoffs.
Jeoul Hill got it started for the Bobcats with a four-yard rushing touchdown on a sweep play.
The PAT failed and the Bobcats led 6-0 with 9:45 left in the first quarter.
Plaquemine quickly responded when running back Melvin McClay rushed in the endzone from a yard out.
The PAT was good and Plaquemine led 7-6 with 5:00 left in the first quarter.
The next drive, Hayden Darbonne snagged 2 passes for 45 yards.
After that, Simeon Ardoin snuck into the endzone on a keeper.
The fake PAT was successful and the Bobcats led 14-7 with 42 seconds left in the first quarter.
The Green Devils responded again with another rushing touchdown by Darius Cyprian from seven yards out.

After the Bobcats received the ball, Hill quickly responded with a 75-yard rushing touchdown on a reverse play.

The Green Devils marched down the field to the 25 yard line where placekicker Shiban Allteiidari nailed the field goal putting the score at 28-24 with five minutes left in the third quarter.
Plaquemine’s senior defensive tackle Cullan Scott forced a fumble against the Bobcats on the 15 yard line.
After the three-and-out forced by the Bobcats, Plaquemine was forced to another field goal.
Allteiidari nailed the field goal thinning the Bobcat lead 28-27 with 1:49 left in the third quarter.
When the Bobcats received the ball, Simeon Ardoin tried heaving one deep but was intercepted by Plaquemine’s A’tryriance Battiste.
The Green Devils had the ball with 10:00 left in the game.
After a long drive by Plaquemine, Gavin Higginbotham jumped on a fumble a returned it 36 yards to the Plaquemine redzone with 7:57 left to go in the game.
One play later, Deon Ardoin put his head down and got into the endzone from 23 yards out.
Rider made the crucial PAT and put the Bobcats ahead 35-27 with 7:45 left in the game.
Plaquemine desperately need a touchdown, but Eunice’s cornerback Terance Tezeno intercepted the ball at the Bobcat 28 yard line with 7: 10 left to go in the game.
The Bobcats punted and set up a final chance for Plaquemine. A key sack by Dedrick Vigers sealed the game with 45 seconds left to go in the game for the turnover on downs.
The Bobcats took the knee and the ended the game with the final score at 35-27. The Bobcats will travel to Bastrop for the second round matchup.
