Bobcats stun No. 10 Jennings

JENNINGS – The Jennings High Bulldogs dominated the action in the early going as they drove from their 35-yard line to deep within the Eunice Bobcat territory.
But the Bobcats held off the Bulldogs by forcing a fumble that was recoverd by Carlin Vigers at the Eunice 9-yard line to end the threat.
The Bobcats put together a drive into Bulldog territory.
The Cats were forced to punt, but fumbles by the Bulldogs allowed the Cats to put the first points on the clock on a Simeon Ardoin pass to Avery Lee for a touchdown and a 6-0 lead.
The Bulldogs would pin the Cats deep within their territory and would take advantage of a fumble recovery in the Eunice end zone by Jacob Young to score two points to makee it a 6-2 score.
Coach Paul Trosclair’s Bobcats responded with a couple of big pass plays by Simeon Ardoin which allowed the Bobcats to gain field position.
Ardoin found Tyler Darbonne open for 30 yards, then found Jordan Ledet for a 40-yard gain.
Ardoin then ran 16 yards for a touchdown to complete a 97-yard scoring drive to take an 18-2 lead into halftime.
But the Bulldogs would open the second half with a scoring drive of their own featuring running backs Darrian Achane and Trevor Etienne.
The Bulldogs bounced back to score on a touchdown by Achane, but the Cats responded with a 20-yard touchdown run by Deon Ardoin in the thrid quarter, pushing the lead to 23-10 advantage.
Jennings quarterback Kole Myers teamed with Achane for a 27-yard touchdown.
The Bobcats turned over the ball later on a tipped pass attempt, but the Cats responded when deon Ardoin broke free on a 59 touchdown run.
The Cats would add another score on a Jeoul Hill reception from Simeon Ardoin to give the Bobcats a 33-23 lead as time clicked away in the fourth quarter.
Eunice returns home Friday to face Rayne for homecoming.
