Five St. Edmund Lady Jays were selected as part of the 5-1A All-District basketball team.
St. Edmund junior Gabby Fontenot was voted to the first team as the Lady Jays finished in a a four-way tie for second place behind district champion North Central.
Other first team members including North Central’s Quaniqa Joseph and Tricia Tyler along with Kennedy Broussard from Catholic High of Pointe Coupee and Westminster’s Andrea Bradley.
Joseph was selected as the District MVP.
St. Edmund senior Allison Lafleur was named to the second team along with Basile’s Catherine Giles, Maggie Lambert from CHPC, North Central’s Diamond Nevills and Kennedy Brown from WCA.
Lady Jay Maggie Larriviere was named to the All-Defensive team.
The All-Defensive teams also included False River’s Sarah Allan along with CHPC’s Jolie Thibodeaux, Joseph from North Central and WCA’s Christian Terry.
St. Edmund juniors Abby Miller and Camille Leger were named to the honorable mention list along with North Central’s Frandreka Keller and Derynesha Tezeno.
Other honorable mention selections included Basile’s Jenny Smith, Gracie Fornet and Caitlynn Deshotels along with CHPC’s Lexie Lacambe, Grace Gosserand, Lakeisha Leonard and Emily Caayoux.
Completing the list was False River’s Katelyn Brook, Lexie Sellars and Grace Lacombe.
