District 5-3A team released

The Eunice Bobcats finished fifth in district and placed two players on the All District 5-3A team.
Brandon Ndubueze earned first team honors, while Georrein Dupre was named to the All-Defensive team.
Joining Ndubueze on the first team were Northwest’s August Pitre, Darnell Durgin from Pine Prairie, Port Barre’s Christian Andrus and Tyran Jones from Ville Platte.
Pitre was named MVP, while Northwest’s Chris Guillory was voted District coach of the year.
Raiders Caleb Allen and Kammryn Jones lead the second team along with Pine Prairie’s Cylus Carson and Isiah Payne.
Ville Platte’s Martin Jason and Jamal Byers were also named to the second team.
Joining Dupre on the All-Defensive team were Church Point’s Peter Sheppard, Tavian Grant from Northwest, Pine Prairie’s Anthony Payen, Kentrell Jackson from Port Barre and Ville Platte’s Shawn Jones.
Northwest (18-11, 8-2) won the district title, but the No. 13 Raiders fell 70-64 in the opening round to No. 20 Amite.
District runners-up Ville Platte advanced to the Class 3-A state quarterfinals with wins over No. 29 Vidalia (79-60) and No. 20 Amite (49-48) before the No. 4 Bulldogs lost 51-40 to fifth seed Madison.
No. 27 Pine Prairie (17-12, 6-4) lost to No. 6 South Beauregard, 87-70 in the first round of the playoffs.
Port Barre (7-18, 5-5), Eunice (10-18, 4-6) and Church Point (9-22, 0-10) did not make it to the playoffs.
