The Eunice tennis team earned a 6-2 home win over Lafayette Christian Academy on Thursday.
On the boys side, LCA’s Silas Fontenot rolled to an 8-1 win over Eunice’s Philippe Soileau.
Soileau responded with an 8-3 win over Caleb Fontenot, Silas’ twin brother.
In boys’ doubles, Colin Ardoin and Kaylup Campbell lost to A. Logan and N. Guidry, 8-4.
In boys junior varsity doubles play, Eunice’s Eli Thomas and Nickolas Pitre fell 8-1 to N. Guidry and J. Priest.
In girls action, Ally Ogea and Kelly Sonnier rolled to an 8-1 victory over K. Ausenne and N Rogues.
The Ogea – Sonnier duo then faced A. Fergurson and L. Guradia.
The two teams were evenly matched going back and forth throughout the match.
The difference came late in the set when the Cats were able to break the Knights serve and hold on for the win.
In the second court doubles, Lady Cats Chloe Broussard and Camille Pitre took on S. Ashmore and N.Douham.
Broussard and Pitre took an early 2-1 lead but fell behind by the score of 3-7. Broussard and Pitre responded by winning 5 games in a row to go ahead by the score of 8-7.
The Knights would not go away quietly however, and tied the match up at 8 games apiece.
Broussard and Pitre would earn the hard earned victory in the tiebreaker by the score of 7-3.
On Court Three, EHS’ Madison Eckholdt and Kaylie Gaspard defeated L. Guardia and G. Boudaun, 8-5.
Eckholdt and Gaspard also defeated G. Givens and L. Lebean, 8-3.
Jennings 3, Eunice 0
The Eunice High tennis team fell 3-0 to the Jennings Bulldogs.
In boy varsity first court singles, Soileau lost 8-5 to Logan Miller.
In girls first court doubles, Ogea and Sonnier lost in a tiebreaker to Jillian Fontenot and Allison Vanhook.
Pitre and Broussard lost 8-4 to Julia O’Brien and Olivia VanHook in second court doubles.
Eunice High won 3-2 in junior varsity action.
Lady Cat Kaylie Gaspard defeat Clara Fontenot, 8-2.
Fontenot downed Madison Eckholt, 6-2.
In boys singles Eli Thomas lost 6-0 to Nicholas Rasberry.
Thomas and Collin Ardoin won 8-2 against Michael O’Brien and Tidus Kieser.
The Ardoin/Thomas duo also cruised to a 10-6 victory over Collin LaVergne and Kyle Cox.
Eunice will compete in a three team match on Thursday as St. Edmund and Iota visit the Fairgrounds courts.
