Eunice tennis honors seniors

The Eunice tennis team sent its four seniors out in fine fashion Thursday with a 7-2 win over Lafayette Christian Academy.
In boys doubles, Zach Joubert and Ting Jiang grabbed an 8-1 win over LCA’s Silas Lafleur and Kaleb Lafleur.
In boys singles, Jiang earned a 8-3 win over Kaleb Lafleur, while Joubert fell in an 8-6 tiebreaker to Silas Lafleur.
In girls singles, Anya Williams cruised to a 6-0 victory over LCA’s Mia Theroit and Lady Cat Melodee Kennedy earned an 8-2 win over Samantha Boudreaux.
The Lady Cats went 3-1 in girls doubles, begun when Paisley Fruge and Sarah Gotreaux earned an 8-1 win over Samatha Gilmore and Alexia Ardoin.
Megan Fontenot and Emily Gotreaux rolled to an 8-0 win over Darrion Kidder and Grace Blair.
Claire Durapau and Ally Ogea grabbed an 8-3 win over Abigail Ferguson and Amberly Aranza.
LCA’s Kylie Auzenne and Nyla Rogers earned an 8-3 win over Caroline Andrus and Camille Pitre.
Eunice travels to Lake Charles Tuesday for regional action.
In other tennis action, Eunice battled Jennings to a 5-5 tie.
In boys singles, Jennings’ Kain Babineaux defeated Ting Jiang 8-2, while Spencer Stelly rolled to an 8-0 victory over EHS’ Philippe Soileau.
In boys doubles, Jennings’ Slade Walker and Trey Williams battled to an 8-6 win over the Bobcat duo of Zach Joubert and Jiang.
Eunice’s Deacon Richard and Kai Matte earned an 8-3 win over Cullen Lantz and Tylon Thibodeaux.
Bobcats’ Kaylup Campbell and Evan Fruge grabbed a 9-7 win over Tidus Kieser and Logan Miller.
In girls singles, Jennings’ Caroline VanHook cruised to an 8-0 win over Melodee Kennedy.
In girls doubles, Eunice won three-of-four matches.
Jennings’ Morgan Futch and Addison VanHook earned an 8-3 win over Paisley Fruge and Sarah Gotreaux.
Eunice’s Megan Fontenot and Emily Gotreaux fought for an 8-5 win over Jenna Richardson and Sadie Cox.
The Lady Cat duo of Anya Williams and Kennedy rolled to an 8-3 win over Sydnee Brown and Julia O’Brien.
Eunice’s Clarie Durpau and Caroline Andrus fought for an 8-5 win over Riley Richard and Lauren Boudreaux.
