Lady Bobcat White shines on Senior Night

It was Lady Bobcats’ Senior Night and Stacie White responded with 33 points to help Eunice High earn a 48-29 victory over Port Barre Friday night.
White did all the scoring for the Lady Cats in the first quarter with nine points.
India Savoie drove the lane and Brittney Sam hit a trey for the Lady Devils in the opening period.
Eunice began the second period with a 12-1, sparked by a three-pointer from White.
Jesslyn Reed added a put-back bucket and Shanyia Toussaint closed the run with back-to-back drives in the lane,
After Savoie scored for the Lady Devils, White answered with six points to push the Lady Cats ahead by 19 points.
Allison Freeman hit a free throw in the closing minute as Eunice pushed ahead, 28-8.
Savoie scored late as Port Barre closed the deficit to 28-10 at the break.
The Lady Devils opened the third period with a 3-1 run as Port Barre attempted to make the game closer.
White entered the second half just four points short of 2,000 points and hit back-to-back buckets to reach that plateau.
The Lady Cat senior then added two more buckets in the frame, sandwiched around 3 free throws from Savoie.
Savoie scored on a last second lay-up to close the Lady Cats’ margin to 37-20 as the game moved to the fourth quarter.
Savoie and Corley Kaiser hit buckets to begin the final frame for Port Barre.
Eunice answered with a two free throws and a trey by White, followed by inside buckets from Reed and Leah Walker.
Savoie hit two free throws as the Lady Devils closed the gap to 46-24 midway through the fourth quarter,
White excited the home crowd with a trey off an inbounds pass for her final points of the night.
Port Barre’s Malani Francis hit a trey and Savoie drove the lane in the last minute as the Lady Devils closed the final gap to 48-29.
Savoie led Port Barre with 17 points.
Eunice (15-10, 9-3) travels to Pine Prairie (17-10, 6-5) on Tuesday before closing the regular season at Mamou (8-16, 3-8) on Friday.

The Eunice Bobcats, playing with a limited lineup after several starters were unavailable to take to the court due to punishment following an incident last week on the road at Church Point.
But head coach Chad Andrepont’s team managed to overcome an early deficit against the Port Barre Red Devils in Friday’s contest, trailing by a 32-21 margin at halftime.
Andrepont’s focus on defense after taking the floor in the second half proved to be successful as the Bobcats turned the table on the Red Devils in the second half as EHS grabbed a 56-52 win.
The Bobcats put pressure on the Red Devils over the final two quarters.
The Bobcats forced turnovers in the early going of the third quarter, with Divine Hampton dominating on both sides of the court.
Mykal Moore teamed with Hampton to outscore the Devils by a 20-6 margin in the third quarter.
The Bobcats continued to outplay the Devils in the third quarter, with Trey Cooper joining Moore and Hampton to take a 41-38 lead late in the third quarter.
The Bobcats continued their comeback in the quarter, with Hampton coming up with a drive into the lane to extend the Bobcat lead to 43-40 at the end of the third quarter.
The Cats forced the Red Devils into a turnover early in the final quarter with six minutes left in the contest. Mykal Moore converted a free throw attempt and Cooper drove hard to goal for two points as the Bobcats as the Bobcats managed to tie the game at 52-52.
A travel call against the Red Devils gave the Bobcats the ball with 11 seconds left on the clock and Moore nailed a pair of free throws to give the Bobcats a 56-52 victory.
Hampton led the Cats in scoring with 25 points. Moore chipped in with 13 and Cooper added nine for the Cats.
Leading scorer for the Red Devils was Kyeron Malveaux with 14 points. Glenn Pickney finished with eight points.
