Lady Bobcats improve to 6-2

PRAIRIE RONDE – For the second game in a row, the Lady Cats exploded to score 18 runs in a pair of one-sided wins.
Eunice improved to 6-2 on the season and 1-1 in District 5-3A as the Lady Cats rolled to an 18-2 victory on Thursday over the Northwest Lady Raiders.
The Lady Cats cruised to a 18-8 win over Jennings on Wednesday.
Northwest (0-2, 0-2) scored in the bottom of the first inning when Kamille Manuel doubled and scored on a hit by Kjahli Malone.
After being held scoreless over the first two innings, the Lady Cats exploded for 13 runs in the top of the third frame to put the game away.
Olivia Thibodeaux tied the game with a solo home run to centerfield.
Mckenzie Guillory was hit by a pitch, Natalie Vidrine singled and Cassie Thomas walked to load the bases.
Alissa Pate was hit by a pitch to score Guillory and Nicole Vidrine then singled in Natalie Vidrine for a 3-1 lead.
Jailyn Pavich singled in Thomas, while Pate stole home and Hailey Sonnier drove in Nicole Vidrine as the Lady Cats pushed ahead, 6-1.
Carli Boone was hit by a pitch and courtesy runner Jeslyn Edwards stole third and home to score the seventh run of the inning.
Thibodeaux tripled to centerfield to plate Boone and later stole home for a 9-1 advantage.
Guillory doubled and scored on a triple by Natalie Vidrine.
Thomas singled in Vidrine as Eunice pushed ahead, 11-1.
Pate kept the rally going as she advanced on a dropped third strike that allowed Thomas to move to third base.
Nicole Vidrine doubled in Thomas and Pate as Eunice increased its lead to 13-1.
The Lady Cats added five runs in the bottom of the third, begun when Hailey Sonnier raced around the bases to score.
Boone walked and Thibodeaux followed with a double.
Guillory hit a ground out to plate Boone, while Thibodeaux later scored on a passed ball.
Natalie Vidrine walked, Thomas singled and the Lady Cat duo both scored on steals to push Eunice ahead, 18-1.
The Lady Raiders scored in the bottom of the fourth when Malone walked and crossed home plate on a hit by Jamila Manuel before a double play ended the game.
Pavich earned the win as she struck out four, walked one and allowed two runs on six hits.
Thibodeaux went 4-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored, while Nicole Vidrine finished 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Natalie Vidrine (2-for-3, RBI, 3 RS), Cassie Thomas (2-for-2, 2 BB, RBI 3 RS) and Pavich (2-for-3, RBI) also had multiple hits for the Lady Cats.
Eunice travels to Port Barre Monday before facing Iota at home on Tuesday as district action continues.
