Lady Cats grab win

LAKE CHARLES – After falling 14-0 to North Vermilion to begin District 4-4A play, the Lady Bobcats responded with a 15-0 mercy-rule victory over LaGrange.
Eunice (4-5, 1-1) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning as the first four batters walked.
Olivia Thibodeaux, McKenzie Guillory, Gabby Mitchell grabbed free passes to load the bases.
Thibodeaux and Guillory scored on a passed ball to give the Lady Cats a 2-0 lead.
Alissa Pate and Jailyn Pavich walked to keep the rally going.
Mitchell and Pate both scored a passed ball to increase the Lady Cats’ advantage to 4-0.
Eunice added two more runs in the top of the second, begun when Mitchell walked and Pate singled with two outs
Mitchell scored on a hit by Caroline Vienne, while Pate scored on an error.
The Lady Cats sealed the win with nine runs in the top of the third frame.
Carli Boone walked and scored on a passed ball.
Sydni Lemelle and Mallory O/Brien both walked and scored on a double by Thibodeaux.
Mitchell doubled in Thibodeaux
Pate walked and Pavich was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
Boone singled in Mitchell to push the Lady Cats ahead, 11-0.
Lemelle then ripped a a three-RBI triple to left field and crossed home plate on a passed ball for the game’s final run.
Vienne earned the win as she struck out four and scattered two hits over three innings.
Eunice finished with seven hits and 12 walks in the win.
Thibodeaux (1-for-1, 2 BB, 2 RS), Mitchell (1-for-1, 2 BB, 1 RS), Pate (1-for-1, 2 BB, 3 RS) Vienne (1-for-3, RBI), Boone (1-for-2, BB, RBI 2 RS), Lemelle (1-for-1, 2 BB, 3 RBI, 1 RS) and O’Brien (1-for-2, BB, 1 RS) all collected a hit for the Lady Cats.
