The St. Edmund Lady Jays opened the basketball season Tuesday with a 54-35 loss to Pitkin.
The Lady Jays travel to Iota today before participating in annual Turkey Tournament held at Sacred Heart of Ville Platte next week.
St. Edmund scored first on a free throw by Julia Zaunbrecher, but Pitkin responded with a 5-0 run including a trey by Natalee Nolan.
