The post season accolades continue for several area softhall players as the 2018 Louisiana Softball Coaches All-Stste teams have been released.
St. Edmund senior shortstop Gabby Fontenot and senior pitcher Maggie Larrievere (were named to Class 1-A All-State team.
Iota senior outfielder Teri Johnson was named to the Class 3-A all-state team along with Lady Bulldog freshman Makenzie Droddy.
No. 10 Iota (22-9, 11-2) opened the playoffs a win over Iowa before falling 2-0 to Kaplan in the regional round.
Three Pine Prairie players earned all-state honor after the Lady Panthers finished as the Class 3-A state runners-up.
Pine Prairie senior pitcher Karlie Ortego was joined by senior outfielder Tori Johnson and junior infielder Jacie McFarlain.
No. 2 Pine Prairie grabbed playoff wins over Wossman (20-0), Mamou (11-1), Kaplan (2-0) and Jena (2-0) before falling 9-1 to Caldwell Parish in the title game.
The Lady Jays captured the District 4-1A championship and earned a spot in the Division IV playoffs.
